Taking a group practice class will challenge you to limit yourself. The coach observes signs of your body fatigue and pushes you to the limit. You may work harder, because everyone is working towards the same goal, not on your own. A group fitness instructor explains the benefits of each exercise, which adds to your rationale for completing the exercise and getting you back to class.

Health and form benefits

There are various forms of exercise for group practice sessions. If your goal is cardiovascular improvement and weight loss, choose aerobics classes such as dancing aerobics, indoor cycling, taekwondo or pedal aerobic exercise. If you want to improve your muscle stamina and strength, choose weight training, aerobics or training camp. If flexibility is your goal, a stretch or yoga class is a good choice.

In addition, certain forms of practice, such as rotation, yoga and strength training, can benefit from the proper form. As a novice, you may not know the right way to use it, which will increase your risk of injury. However, in class, the coach will check you and correct your position if necessary.

The group practice setting helps keep you in charge of the class. When teachers and other participants ask why you are away, they generally care about your happiness, and you don’t want to “sit on the couch”. If you need to advance group courses, your responsibilities will increase. The number of courses you pay is limited and more likely to be attended.
